Now that you’ve created a new project, you’ll need to connect it to a Salesforce Production Org. This Org serves as a Dev Hub if you are working with Scratch Orgs, or provides the Sandboxes for Hutte Sandbox projects.

  1. This will bring you to the Salesforce login screen. Enter your credentials and log in.
    1. If you’re creating a Sandbox project, make sure that Source Tracking is enabled for Developer Sandboxes in your connected Org. This is a prerequisite for Hutte to track metadata changes in your Sandbox.
    2. If you’re creating a Scratch Org project, make sure to enable DevHub from the "Setup Menu" in Salesforce. This is a prerequisite for being able to create Scratch Orgs in Hutte.

  1. That’s it! Next, you’ll need to connect your project to Git.

If you don’t have the necessary permissions to link your Salesforce organization and Git repository, or you would like to delegate these tasks to someone else, you can invite someone on your team to Hutte as an Integration Manager to do it for you.

This user doesn’t add any additional costs to your Hutte plan, and they will only have access to the project setup steps. To learn more, read about Integration Managers here.

Salesforce offers Integration User Licenses as part of its platform to facilitate seamless system integrations. These licenses are specifically designed to manage API-based connections between Salesforce and external systems such as Hutte. Integration User Licenses are typically free and are not counted toward the organization's total user licenses.
